Research

Our faculty bridge between basic and clinical research, perform studies in people as well as in animal and cell models, and train students for careers in academia, industry, and medicine. The highly focused and integrated research in HG has resulted in extensive networks of collaboration among our faculty, as well as with faculty in other departments and divisions of the university.

The distinctly collaborative nature of our faculty is illustrated in the figure to the left, which shows a research interactome based on papers published over the past 10 years. In this figure HG faculty are shown as orange nodes, other UChicago-affiliated investigators as maroon nodes, and other non-UChicago-affiliated investigators who are co-authors on at least two papers with HG faculty as gray nodes.
